Seed Production

Seed Research is located in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley, considered to be the "Grass Seed Capital" of the world. Over half of the world’s cool season grasses are produced in the Willamette Valley.

At Seed Research of Oregon we contract with seed growers to produce thousands of acres of many different varieties and species of grasses. Our production department works closely with seed growers, certification personnel from Oregon State University, and various fertilizer and weed control specialists to ensure the highest quality standards. In addition, we work with grass seed farmers and seed certification agencies in other areas of North America to produce high quality grass seed of other species – Washington, Idaho, California, Arizona, Georgia, Minnesota, and Canada. Seed Research varieties are cleaned and conditioned at selected cleaning plants to meet rigid minimum quality standards before they can be marketed.
