Adapted/naturalized to cool, humid, maritime climates of North America; well suited to cooler climates of eastern United States and the maritime provinces of Canada; grows to 18”; well adapted to fertile, moist, fine-textured soils with a pH between 5.5-6.5; excellent winter hardness; poor heat and drought stress tolerance, especially on heavier soils.

Drill or broadcast seed no deep than 1/4” at 5–10 pounds PLS/acre (or 2–5 pounds PLS/acre in mixes) 5,000,000 seeds/pound.

Germination usually less than 10 days, although longer in cooler soil temperatures.
